To open Notepad, first click on the 'Start' button (located on your windows taskbar at the bottom left of your screen)

The 'Start Up' menu will be displayed.

To view the 'Programs' menu, move your mouse to the 'Programs' link on the 'Start Up' menu.

Move your mouse to the 'Accessories' link on the 'Programs' menu.

Browse through the 'Accessories' menu items and click on 'Notepad'.

Alternatively, you can also open Notepad by clicking on the 'Start' button (located on your windows taskbar at the bottom left of your screen)

The 'Start Up' menu will be displayed.

Click on 'Run...'

A 'Run' pop-up will be displayed that prompts you to type the name of a program, folder, document or Internet resource.

Type 'notepad' and click on the 'OK' button to open Notepad.
