Promoting Your Marketing Center

Just because we have built a Marketing Center and uploaded it to a Domain Hosting Company, it doesn't mean your job is over. If the site is not promoted, you will not get any business! There are many ways to do promotions as you will see following these guidelines. Promoting can be done using free services however, keep in mind that you do get what you pay for! To maximize your business potential, you WILL have to spend money to promote your webpages. You MUST set a budget and RE-INVEST into your business to be successful on the Internet! Your website is like a single grain of sand on the ocean's bottom. Millions of new webpages are put up on the Internet every day! You must be found and the only way to be found is through proper advertising!

  • Search Engines will account for about 5% of your business if you have chosen the correct keywords and keep your site updated. You can use the "Top Ten Search Engine Submission" you placed on your Marketing Center or any submission program you may have. Submit your site once every two months. If you submit more often than this, your site will be removed from the search engines for Spamming them. You Must go directly to the Major search engines or directories like Yahoo/Alta Vista/AOL/Google/Lycos and hand enter your website information to be listed properly. The automated submissions do not work well with them. When your budget allows, use the paid for service at Yahoo. It's $199 and well worth it. Before using the paid for service at Yahoo go over your HTML in your index.html page. If there are ANY HTML or spelling errors your site will be rejected. Also, your description and keywords must reflect the content of your website exactly. Yahoo and many of the other search engines like written content. That's why we did the 650 word story, this is the minimum they require. Again, this content must be relavent to your Marketing Center.

For example, if you are marketing widgets and on the front page of your Marketing Center the content is about your background history or pet, your site will be rejected! This also holds true with automated submissions. I have other submission resources located at ClayParker.Net that you are welcome to use.

    • Keyword Bidding is by far one of the best ways to drive traffic to website. Briefly, keyword bidding is when you purchase keywords from the search engines. The more you are willing to pay for the keyword to send targeted traffic to you, the higher your placement is in the search engine for that keyword. To do this, open and fund (anywhere between $25 to $100) a keyword bidding account with a search engine. State how much you are willing to pay for the keyword click thru. When someone does a search on that keyword and finds your link, then clicks on it to go to your site, the amount that you set up for the click is deducted from your account. When the count needs refreshing, the search engine will notify you.

Be careful on choosing your keyword and what your description is. Many people choose a keyword that doesn't apply to their site with a brief vague description just to get traffic. They think the site will sell them. This isn't true. If you try this, you will get traffic, but you won't get sales. All you will accomplish is having to replenish your account. Choose a keyword that someone would normally put into a search engine that best suits your site. Write a very detailed description including the price of your service or product. By doing this you weed out the looky-loo, and only people that are actually interested will come to your site. They will more than likely purchase because they already know the price. This way you aren't wasting your money!
